Bay State African Violet Society, Inc.
Meeting Information: The Bay State African Violet Society, the state club of Massachusetts, meets to hold an African violet show and sale each spring, typically the last weekend in April at the New England Botanic Garden in Boylston, MA. An annual membership meeting is also held in the fall, generally in October. At this member event, a brief business meeting is held and a luncheon is served. Members have an opportunity to socialize, purchase plants and listen to a featured guest speaker. All BSAVS members receive an informative quarterly newsletter and, during the winter, have an opportunity to attend online meetings that focus on some aspect of African violet or gesneriad growing.

Notes: We are a friendly group of just under 20 men and women always looking to welcome others interested in growing our favorite houseplant. We encourage anyone to come to a meeting, no membership required. Please contact the president first so we know to expect you.
We gather between 6:30pm and 7pm in the communal kitchen/activity room, then have a short business meeting at 7, followed by a program of interest to any AV grower at any skill level. Our annual dues are $6.00.
Our members live primarily in Central Massachusetts, but also MetroWest Boston. Gateway AVC formed in May, 2006. Several of us are judges for the African Violet Society of America, the international registry of Saintpaulia, and we are also members of the regional Bay State African Violet Society.
