Auction When, Where & How
The Silent Auction will open on Monday, May 31, at noon CDT and close on June 5, at noon CDT
- Registered attendees will be able to place or increase bids on silent auction items at any time during the open period
- Winning bidder will be announced on Sunday June 6 at noon CDT
- Invoice will be sent to bidder and when payment is received, the donor will be notified to ship the item
The Live Auction will occur via Zoom on June 4, at 7pm CDT
- A very limited number of highly desirable items will be offered to the bidders who participate
- Invoice will be sent to the winning bidder and when payment is received, the donor will be notified to ship the item
Who May Bid in the Auction?
Bidders must live in the continental United States (not including Alaska or Canada) because of shipping limitations elsewhere.
Responsibility of Donors
All donations will be shipped to the winning bidder from the donor’s location at the donor’s expense.
- Items which sell best are usually violet-related, rare, unique, or unusual in nature. Please note that plant material must be shipped to arrive safely, regardless of where the buyer lives in the US.
- Donor should determine the anticipated cost of shipping the donated item
Concerned about the shipping cost being covered by the bid?

- Donors may request a minimum bid (covering the cost of shipping to winning bidder in the US).
- If minimum bid is not reached, the item will not be sold.
Donors must provide:

- pictures of donated item
- a description of item
- approximate value of donated item
- minimum bid amount, if applicable
AVSA Responsibility
AVSA will:
- determine whether donation item is placed in the silent auction (May 31-June 5) or live auction (Friday, June 4, 7pm CDT)
- advertise the items in advance
- acknowledge all donors on the convention website
- invoice winning bidders and collect payment
