My name is Maria George, owner of Mishka’s Blooms, located in Redmond, Oregon. I have been a member of AVSA for many years and grown African Violets off and on during this time. Since retiring, I have had more of an opportunity to enjoy my violets and, as it turns out, I have not met an African Violet I didn’t like, so my collection has expanded significantly. My adult children claim that my violets have taken over my house! Last fall, I started selling my violets on eBay and earned a 100% seller rating. This is my first time selling at an AVSA Convention.

My goal is to provide happy, healthy African Violets at reasonable prices. I will be offering a good selection of standard, semiminiature, and miniature violets, many of which may be hard to find, unique, and unusual. I start my plants from leaves and some of the varieties I will be selling are hybridized by: Buckeye, Hunter’s, Lyon’s, Pittman, Rivermist, and more, as well as Ukrainian and Russian varieties.

I am licensed by the Oregon Department of Agriculture and my plants are regularly inspected for any pests or diseases. As required by the Arizona Department of Agriculture, I will be providing a phytosanitary certificate for the plants I bring to sell at the Convention. Since I am a “one-woman operation,” I will only be selling plants at the AVSA Convention and on eBay (in other words, I am unable to fulfill any orders on an individual basis).
