Important Bingo Tips
Only those who signed up for Bingo at registration will be able to play.
It may not be too late! Contact bingo@avsa.org before Monday Noon CDT
To play effectively, these 4 things are critical:
1. Your BINGO card is separate from Zoom. To see both as you play, you will need a computer screen large enough to display 2 windows, or 2 separate devices.
What devices work best?
These are the recommended choices:
- A computer for the Zoom meeting plus a second device (like a smart phone) for the BINGO card.
- A single computer, if you are:
- using a desktop or laptop AND
- able to manage two windows open side by side on the monitor.
It is possible to use one cell phone/tablet for the Zoom meeting and another cell phone/tablet for the BINGO game, but you will be at a DISADVANTAGE.
A single cell phone or tablet WILL NOT WORK for both the Zoom meeting and the BINGO card.
2. You must know how to mute and unmute yourself in Zoom.
3. You must add your name to your picture in the Zoom meeting window.
4. If you get Bingo, you must know how to use the Chat window (in Zoom) to tell the moderator.
How does that work?
During the play, all attendees will be muted. The only way to communicate is by typing a message in the “Chat” window in Zoom.
If multiple players have Bingo at the same time, the first player to click in on the Chat will win the round.
If you are unfamiliar with how to use the Chat feature, it’s very important for you to attend the Bingo How To session two hours before the Bingo game begins.
HINT: Players may type the word BINGO into their chat window ahead of time so that it is ready to send when they actually get a Bingo.
DON’T WORRY!
If you feel unsure, we will help you personally at the Bingo How-To session (Tuesday, at 5 pm CDT)
